(To all my friends and family ,It is always of my heart to welcome you to my home and share you in my life. Of times busy or far apart,we do not always get the joy of sharing food, laughter, song or the simple pleasures of quiet conversation in the company of one another. My door is always open and This poem is for you.) (Happy Thanksgiving. I toast you)
An Olde Fashioned Welcome
Welcome, There's a chair by the fire for you here
Warm, a place to rest your feet
A hook by the door for your coat should come by
A pillow on a bed to rest if you are weary
Food on the table
Water to bathe or refresh
An ear to listen if you wish to speak
Or quiet if you need reflection and peace
A friend to be a comfort
You are welcome here at my hearth

Soldiers of Life
Soldiers of Life
Two Strangers come to meet
Friends of long ago on an endless journey through time
Come to meet again
Their paths destined to intertwine
Wars won in surviving bring tattered and torn soldiers together once again
Faces faded by lives lived, deathe, only to meet life again
Souls meeting, in passing, knowing, enjoying, a friend once again
A love of long ago riding the winds of forever
Testing time
On we go
In our passing a moment to have still the joy of
friendships renewal, again and again
Such is the winning of life
For bodies die, but the spirit and the friendship
carries on, timeless through eternity
~~~~~~
Let us here at this impasse
Raise our glass again
Touch again
Laugh again
Capture a moment of now and laugh again and again
Free spirits besting time
Raise your glass and sing again with me, my friend
Rest and refresh with me as we have time through time
Share with me the journeys tale
And then go forward , free
Winning will come of all of this to you and me
Soldiers of life, we have fought to win
~~~~~~~~~~
Are we not comrades in spirit
By our honor friends, you and I
Have we not traveled many lives, many roads
Seen so many a horizon, storm clouds, and conquest
together, you and I
Let us here at this impasse
Raise our glass again
Touch again
Laugh again
Sing again with me my friend
So good to see you once more my friend

Mud Puddles
Alight -Mud Puddles
A vision turned to look
and cast a smile
that made a thousand rivers
running wild
One glance and outward bound
A prairie full of flowers
Chasing rain the mind delight
the edge of morning
the dawn of night
Rain, rain, rain
~~~~~~~~rain~~~~~~~~~~
Upward flights of mind
Thought alight without restrain!
Childish spirit, wet toes, muddy feet
A vision turned to look
and cast a smile
that made a thousand rivers
running wild!
Playful Spirit Alight - Mud Puddles
A Man Alive
A Man Alive
Give me not a knight in shining armor
But a man alive
With wisdom enough to laugh
Strength enough to be gentle
A man that walks among other men
But whose steps are just his own
Not a man without fault
But, judgment enough to master his own ways
With reason enough to have understanding
Compassion in his living
A man with adventure in his heart
Alive enough to carry a flame of living in his eyes
Warmth in his voice
A grace of thought in his mind
Fulfillment in his living
Not a knight in shining armor
But....A man alive
The Secret of Snow
The Secret of Snow
Prelude
Grey leaden skies heavy with impending voice
await the song of wintry rejoice
Willful winds whipping cross the mountain peaks,
Icy breathe urgent to speak
The silence pause in piercing chill
Neath the quiets of the falling wintry
white veil
What stir within the crystalline glints
shimmering from the frozen brooks and barren boughs
Upon the hill and through the vale, silence speaks
Interlude
What flame within turn to mists of ember burning
low upon the hearth of the soul
Whence come the wintry shadows that fall
upon the heart grown weary and oft times
cold from life’s brisk and unkind chilling's
Whither we wander within December’d thought
Drowsy, restless of the cold
Finale
Awake! Arise! From slumbered rest!
The wintry smile precede the yawn
of spring!
Where embers revive and the heart
doth reckon the glints of wintry wind
toward air for the fire of the bellows
Life, thy heart, thy soul, blossoming
warmed, quenched the wintry cool,
refreshed, alive, renewed!.
Befouled thou are not, Befooled perhaps!
Hearken ye well, the fires of the wintry ice
whispering
the secret of snow!!
